Rocking K is one of the newest master-planned communities in the Tucson area, a 5,000-acre development at the base of the Rincon Mountains on the southeast side, right up against Saguaro National Park East. Because it is so new, most of what we move here is into or out of recently built homes, and the community is still growing across its many neighborhoods, with builders like Pulte, Lennar, KB Home, Richmond American, Del Webb, and Meritage all active. If you are moving in, we are often unloading a fresh delivery of furniture and boxes into a brand-new house; if you are moving out, it is usually a family relocating within the fast-growing Vail area or heading out of state.

The land itself shapes how a move goes at Rocking K. The community was built to preserve a large share of its natural desert, with more than ten miles of trails, a big central park, and homes set among gravel yards and desert landscaping with real mountain views. In practice that means:

• Long or sloped driveways on some lots, where we plan truck staging carefully so we are not carrying heavy items farther than necessary.
• Gravel and desert landscaping we protect on the way in and out, since it damages more easily than it looks.
• Newer open floor plans with tile and wood-look floors that we cover with runners before the first box comes in.
• Two-story homes with lofts and upstairs bedrooms off narrow landings, where mattresses and large furniture need to be angled.

Because Rocking K sits farther out toward Saguaro National Park East, the drive and the desert heat are both things we plan around. There is little mature shade in a community this new, so our crews prefer early starts in the summer, often arriving by 7 a.m. to get the loading done before the afternoon heat, and we bring plenty of water.

The community draws a lot of families moving here for the Vail School District, which is one of the top-ranked districts in the state. The new Saguaro Creek K-8 school opened right inside the community in 2025, so many of our moves are timed around the school calendar. How We Get to Rocking K

Our office is at 3430 E Sunrise Dr in Tucson, and we make the trip out to the southeast side and Vail regularly. The newly completed extension of Valencia Road, which connects Houghton Road to Old Spanish Trail, made getting to Rocking K noticeably easier, and we build that drive time into your flat-rate quote so there is no trip fee. Depending on where in the community your home is, the drive from our office runs roughly 30 to 40 minutes, and we try to schedule summer moves early to beat the heat.

Inside the community, Rocking K's streets are new and well planned, so our trucks move through easily, but the neighborhoods wind through preserved desert and some homes sit on larger or sloped lots. We take care with where we park so we are not blocking a neighbor or backing across delicate landscaping, and we walk the path from the truck to your door before we start carrying.
