How to Relocate Old Green Valley Houses
The majority of Green Valley houses were constructed between the late 1970s and early 1990s, which creates unique challenges with tight hallways and garage access, and sliding doors that aren't quite as tall as they appear. Over the years, we have moved countless household items from Green Valley homes in this floorplan, so how they work.
Most of these Green Valley homes are single-story ranch-style. This is great for your back but not so great when you're trying to move things around the corners in these low ceilings and tight entryways. When we move out of older homes like these in Green Valley, to expect to angle things and tilt them up, and we are ready for it. We are familiar with this style of home and are prepared for the challenges that it presents, and we will be sure to properly pad your doorways and protected textured walls.
Here are some of the most common features that you'll encounter when we move out of an older single-family home in Green Valley:
- Narrower front doors (32 inches as opposed to the new standard 36-inch doors) that require partial disassembly of furniture to get out
- The many built-in shelves or wall units that were original to the house, which many homeowners will want to take out
- Outdoor furniture that's been sitting in the covered Arizona rooms of these older homes for 10 years
- Pianos, safes, and hutches brought into the house when the homeowner was a younger adult 20 years ago
The last item is very common. Many of the original homes in Green Valley were purchased by people who were 50 or 60 years old at the time and are now down-sizing to a smaller home, often within Green Valley, and closer to friends and family. The safes and pianos that were carried into the house by those homeowners 20 years ago now need to come out and be carried by a trained professional. We move all types of safes, pianos, and other heavy items in this section of Green Valley regularly.
The garages are also full of things. In Green Valley, it is often the case that the garage is occupied by a lifetime of things, and it isn't uncommon to enter these homes and find that their garages do not fit a vehicle. We will never judge you, but we can help you sort out what goes, what stays, and what can be loaded.
The heat is also a consideration in Arizona. We find that stucco exteriors get hot enough that they can begin to melt the glue that holds moving blankets together around mid-morning. We start very early in the day, particularly during the months of June through September, to avoid the heat. The concrete driveways that the houses are built on radiate heat from the midday sun, making it difficult to maintain traction on some tapes. Our crew is used to working in the hot environment of southern Arizona and we have many years of experience dealing with the challenges that it presents, including having extra water and shade so that no part of the move needs to be rushed.
It is also the case that we don't need to figure out how to navigate the streets and get past HOA's that require advanced notice and advance codes. The green valley streets off of Abrego Drive have a few very tricky turns that we already know the way around. And many of the street that the Camino Encanto has a series of HOA's that will require a pre-arranged entry code to get past. Or we need to get past the speed bump on Calle de las Tiendas and go slow with the truck.
When we come to Green Valley, your items don't move multiple trucks, they don't get handled by multiple crews, and you are guaranteed our quoted price. This means one truck, one crew, and one-day moves. Many of the people that live in Green Valley are on a fixed budget, and you can't afford to pay for the moving company to drive around a bit just because we were dispatched from Tucson or Phoenix.
We also offer senior discounts as part of our community discounts program. So many of the things that we move out of Green Valley are done by folks who have retired and moved into the community. We treat every piece like it belongs to our own family. Insured, locally owned, and a five-star rating on Google from people just like you.
How Our Team Reaches Green Valley Neighborhoods
We're located at 101 S La Cañada Dr, we're in Green Valley, we don't drive up from Tucson or Sierra Vista. We're local.
The majority of our moves in Green Valley start within minutes of us leaving our office. We head south on La Cañada Drive to the Continental Road intersection. Depending on which neighborhood or community is your destination, we then fan out.
Depending on where you live, it's a slightly different route but, it's still short drive time to get to you.
- We take La Cañada Drive south from our office, past the Green Valley Village shopping center.
- We cut to the west off of La Cañada Drive for communities on or near Esperanza Boulevard and Esperanza Recreation Center. We follow Esperanza to Abrego Drive.
- Communities off Camino Encanto or near Desert Hills sit east of La Cañada, so we cut over on Continental Road and head toward the I-19 frontage road.
- We exit I-19 at the Duval Mine Road exit for communities further south such as Canoa Ranch and Quail Creek, getting to these neighborhoods in less than 10 minutes from our office.
Unlike Tucson, Green Valley traffic is not a major concern. Sidewalks are broad and well laid out, HOA communities are clearly signed and have marked entrance points. We are often at a home within a 15 minute window of departing our office in Green Valley.
This makes a big difference for you. We don't waste time (and money) that you are paying for on an hour long drive that local movers in other cities do every day when they arrive at your Green Valley home. We are local so which neighborhoods require notice for moving trucks and the communities where you must register with the guard before entering. that streets in the Green Valley neighborhood near Abrego Drive can get tight due to parked golf carts so we plan truck placement in advance.
We also know that in Green Valley, the mornings of July and August are the only time of day to load a truck and that you shouldn't leave any furniture or belongings sitting in a moving truck at 110 degrees.
Because of this we like to get to Green Valley homes early in the monsoon months, usually by 7 a.m. It's not just about driving time, it is about being available to come out when you need a free estimate. Call from your home in Green Valley and we can have someone at your home for a free, in person, no obligation, move quote the same day. No trip fee. No recording, a real human being responds, who can tell you about their experiences moving other people out of your community.
Green Valley homeowners will tell you the same thing: They called a different moving company in Tucson, they were given a very general quote on the phone and then the mover would not respond, so they waited a few days for that mover to call them back with a move quote. We give you an immediate response and a flat rate, move quote. That number is the number you pay. Period.
Seniors who are moving around in Green Valley or moving to a new neighborhood in Green Valley should hire a moving team that can handle the process with dignity and care. Our senior moving services take care of the moving process with senior needs in mind. Additionally, if you are a veteran or first responder, please inquire about our community discount programs.

Why Moving to These Green Valley Neighborhoods is Different
Virtually all houses in Green Valley are within age-restricted neighborhoods with HOA regulations that regulate everything from moving hours to what access door the trucks can use. This one point completely alters the dynamics of moving day.
Our moving company performs relocations within the different parts of Green Valley on a weekly basis — from Las Campanas and Green Valley Country Club Estates to Green Valley Fairways and Desert Hills — and every single area is unique. Here is how these sections stand out:
- Accessing gated communities. Residents in certain areas, including Las Campanas and Santa Rita Springs, need gate codes or must be signed-in at the guardhouse. Our moving team arranges to gain access well before we start so our moving truck does not sit waiting on Camino Encanto.
- Community roads can be narrow. Most neighborhoods in the area of Green Valley consist of curvy avenues and cramped dead ends. This means that 26-foot trucks cannot fit in these neighborhoods, so we arrange the best path before we arrive.
- Most floor plans consist of only one level. The good news is, virtually all houses are only one floor, so there are fewer stairs to climb and the risk of damage is lowered, which also speeds up loading. But there are long hallways and tricky angles around the bedrooms.
- Outdoor patios and enclosed Arizona rooms. Numerous houses in Green Valley have covered patios full of furniture that customers often overlook in their estimates. We these rooms are included in our complimentary home tours.
And then, there is also the scorching weather.
Summertime moving in Green Valley can mean 100-degree days right out of the gate. Whenever feasible, we set up morning arrivals, ensuring our crew is fresh, and your items are not exposed to direct sunlight during unloading. Furniture upholstered in leather and electrical equipment are not designed to sit in the back of a hot truck for hours. We move quickly, we stay hydrated, and the whole process keeps moving.
We also assist clients with to a smaller rooming within a nearby residence in the same neighborhood. On the surface, moving from a huge residence to a tiny apartment in the same neighborhood seems effortless. However, you must separate a lifetime of belongings into three piles, and you must decide which you would like to keep, sell or store. Our senior relocation service specializes in assisting homeowners through these types of moves, alongside dedicated estate crews for larger inventories and packing help when you'd rather not box things yourself. We move at your own pace, we handle the items that matter to you (including antiques and heirloom art), and we are respectful of your property.
We also see the opposite situation, as in when snowbirds return to the midwest or the Pacific Northwest from their winter home. When relocating from the Green Valley area, we offer a direct long-distance moving service. Your belongings go directly into one truck, and we don't stop at a distribution center before delivery to the final destination. Typically, these relocations are completed within 7 days.
In addition, retirement communities within the region have specific delivery schedules. Certain HOAs only allow moving trucks in from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Some HOAs prohibit moving activities on holidays. all these policies, and after moving in the Green Valley region for 8 years, we verify them directly with the homeowner's HOA so that there are no surprises when you reach the gate.
The price we estimate is what you will be charged. Flat, all-inclusive rate. There is no additional surcharge applied if we are not able to park right up at the property or that additional twenty minutes of moving around the patio furniture. It's the No Hassle Promise, the reason behind the five-star customer reviews.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about moving in Green Valley.
How quickly can you reach my home near Canoa Ranch or Quail Creek?
We can usually reach you in less than 10 minutes. Our office sits on La Cañada Drive, and we exit I-19 at Duval Mine Road to get to these southern Green Valley neighborhoods fast. Most moves in Green Valley start within a short drive of our office, so you're not paying for us to sit in traffic.
Will my older Green Valley home's narrow doorways be a problem for movers?
No, we handle this all the time. Many Green Valley homes built in the late 1970s through the early 1990s have 32-inch front doors instead of the newer 36-inch standard. We often need to partially disassemble furniture to get it through safely, and our crew knows exactly how to do this without damaging your walls or your belongings.
Do I need to give you gate codes for my Green Valley HOA community?
Yes, if you live in a gated community like those off Camino Encanto, please send us the entry code ahead of time. We already know tricky spots like the turns near Abrego Drive and the speed bump on Calle de las Tiendas, so we just need your community's access details to arrive on schedule.
