A corporate relocation usually isn't one move. It's the office, plus the people who work there, plus their families, all on a deadline. The desks are the easy part. The hard part is getting everything and everyone to the right place at the right time, so your team walks into a working office on Monday and goes home to a furnished house that night. We handle both sides with one crew and one schedule.

Corporate Relocation Is More Than Office Furniture

When people hear "corporate relocation," they picture desks and file cabinets. Those are part of it, but a relocation usually involves a lot more: employees and their families who need to move, office equipment and computers that can't arrive broken, conference rooms, break rooms, inventory, and confidential files. All of it has to arrive on time and in one piece, without the business losing days of work.

What a Corporate Relocation Can Include

Often it's more than one of these at once. On one move, we relocated eight people's workstations from the Catalina Foothills to a downtown office and set up new homes for three of them in the same week, with the same crew handling every part.

That combination is rare. Plenty of companies move office furniture, and plenty move households. Far fewer handle both at the same time. You've probably heard about the relocated employee who shows up Monday with no furniture at home because a different company ran behind on the household move. With one point of contact for both, that doesn't happen to your people.

Types of Corporate Relocation

Not every corporate relocation is the same, and the type decides how the move comes together. We walk HR teams and office managers through this all the time:

  • Office-only moves cover desks, chairs, IT gear, file cabinets, break room appliances, and conference tables, basically everything in the building. It's the core of our commercial moving work, and we often do these on evenings or weekends so your team doesn't lose a business day.
  • Employee-only moves bring employees and their households to Tucson, whether that's from across town or from out of state. Long-distance employee moves go direct, with no warehouse stops or transfers.
  • Combined moves are the big ones: the office moves and employees move with it. They need careful coordination so the office is ready before people arrive.

Get a combined move wrong and employees show up to an office that isn't set up, or their household goods arrive a week late because nobody synced the schedules. That's usually what happens when one company moves the office and another moves the employees, each on its own timeline.

Not sure which type you have? Call us. We'll ask a few questions and walk through your options in about ten minutes. There's no trip charge and no pressure, just someone with real moving experience to talk it through.

One Team for the Office and the Employee Moves

What makes corporate relocation different is that you're often moving an employee's whole life at the same time you're moving the office. A new hire relocating to the Catalina Foothills needs a home set up the same week the new office opens. A small team transferring to a branch downtown may each have a different move-in date and lease end date.

We run both sides through one coordinator, so nothing falls through the cracks. Here's what that looks like when it's done right:

  • We map every date: lease dates, office availability, IT setup, and school dates for families with kids.
  • We schedule both moves together, on the same day when possible.
  • If we're packing, we pack homes and offices with separate, labeled inventories.
  • We confirm arrival times with your HR team, so every employee knows when to expect the crew.

The most common problem is timing. The office furniture is in, but the employee's apartment complex won't allow the elevator until Thursday afternoon. Or the household is moved in, but the server rack isn't there yet. We've seen both, and we work around them. With one team on both sides, there's no finger-pointing between a residential crew and a commercial crew. If your company is moving several employees at once, we'll schedule it so your HR staff's workload doesn't double.

We handle corporate relocations across Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, and Green Valley, and employee moves to and from anywhere in the country.

What a Corporate Relocation Costs

Every corporate relocation gets a custom quote, because moving one employee's apartment across town and moving a 20-desk office plus three households are very different jobs. Smaller local pieces, like a single employee's household across town, run on our standard rate: $547 for the first 2 hours with 2 movers, the truck, and travel, then $127 an hour after that.

For larger relocations, we look at everything first, in person or through photos and video, and then quote a flat rate. That's the price you pay, which makes it easy to hand to accounting. If items or services get added later, we update the quote and you see the new number before we do the work. If you'd rather skip the walkthrough and photos, we can work hourly instead. Same crew, same trucks.

There's no trip fee and no call-out charge, because the truck and travel are built into the 2-hour minimum or the flat rate. Evening and weekend moves cost the same as weekday moves. Estimates are free, online or in person.

We'll give you one estimate that covers the office and the employee households together, instead of billing you piece by piece. The full scope is laid out up front, so there are no surprise charges after delivery.

What Changes the Price

Five things move the number on a corporate relocation:

  • Scope: how many rooms, desks, workstations, and households. A file room full of loaded cabinets takes more work than an open floor of laptops.
  • Distance: across Tucson is one thing. Out of state is another, since our own crew drives the truck the whole way.
  • Crew size: more movers usually means fewer hours, and on a hard job we'd rather send four and finish clean than stretch two movers into the afternoon heat.
  • Packing: we can pack everything, part of it, or none of it. If your team packs, we'll help you figure out the supplies.
  • Timing: tight deadlines and very large moves change how we staff the job. A big relocation may be split into a packing day and a loading day.

Specialty items change the plan, too. A piano or a safe means more movers and different equipment.

There's one wrinkle that's specific to corporate moves. Employees are often quoting a home they haven't finished sorting. The garage gets cleaned out, or a spare bedroom of files turns out to be staying with the company. Our walkthrough prices what exists the day we look. If the list changes, we update the quote before moving day, with no penalty and no renegotiating on the truck ramp.

What's Included, and What's Not

Included in every corporate relocation quote:

  • Our own crew, our own truck, and travel
  • Moving blankets and stretch wrap on furniture
  • Specialty TV boxes, plus custom boxing for mirrors and artwork
  • A designated loader who builds the load and secures it with ratchet straps
  • Unloading into the right rooms, with furniture unwrapped and placed where you want it
  • A final walkthrough with the crew before we leave

Not included in the base quote:

  • Packing, which is available and priced separately
  • Unpacking boxes at the new home or office, available on request
  • Hazardous materials, which we don't move
  • General junk hauling like trash bags, yard waste, or tree trimmings. We do haul away old furniture and appliances and handle donation drop-offs.

Long-Distance Employee Relocations

We're movers, not brokers. An employee's household goes on our truck with our crew, and that truck carries only their move. No warehouse stop, no transfer to another company, no shared load with other families. For moves out of Arizona, we load at the current home and drive it to the new one. For moves into Arizona, our crew travels to the employee's home, packs, loads, and brings everything here. It's one company the whole way.

Our long-distance moves are quoted as a custom flat rate after we see the household in person or through photos and video. There's no set price we can post, because a two-bedroom apartment going to Phoenix and a five-bedroom house going to Denver aren't the same job. Travel is built in, with no separate trip fee or fuel surcharge.

Preparing a Multi-Tenant Building for Move Day

A lot of corporate relocation problems start before move day, because nobody talked to the building manager. Most office space in Tucson is in multi-tenant buildings, like the ones along Broadway Boulevard and the office parks in midtown, and they have rules about elevator reservations, loading dock times, freight elevators, and after-hours access. Miss them, and a crew ends up waiting in the parking lot.

We coordinate with building management on every job, but a few things on your end help:

  • Talk to your property manager at least two weeks ahead to book the freight elevator and loading dock for the window you need.
  • Confirm move-in time restrictions. Some buildings only allow moves before 7 a.m. or after 6 p.m.
  • Ask about floor protection. Many buildings require hardboard or carpet film in hallways and common areas.
  • Find out whether they need a certificate of insurance from your mover. We can send ours the same day.
  • Give neighbors on your floor a heads-up if you'll be sharing the elevator.

We've done moves where one file cabinet fit in the elevator per ride, and moves with full dock access where a 20-person office was unloaded in a single day. The difference was preparation. Bring your IT team in early, too. Servers, phone systems, and network switches need to be disconnected and reconnected in the right order, and we'll coordinate with your IT people so nobody loses data or gets surprised when it's time to plug back in.

Summer Scheduling in Tucson

A corporate relocation between June and September is a different job than the rest of the year. Temperatures regularly pass 105 degrees, parking lots get hot enough to burn, and equipment left in the sun gets too hot to handle. We live and work here year-round, and we plan for it:

  • Loading starts by 5:30 or 6 a.m. in summer, before the heat builds
  • Evening moves are an option if early mornings don't work for your team
  • Every job has water, and crews rotate
  • Electronics and heat-sensitive items load last so they come off first
  • Items move straight from the building to the truck instead of sitting on a sunny dock

Most HR teams planning a relocation aren't thinking about how a Tucson summer affects the schedule. That's our job, and we build it in well ahead of move day.

Deposit, Financing & Discounts

A deposit reserves your date, arrival window, and crew. It's typically $150 for local moves, and larger for long-distance, very large, or packing-heavy relocations, since those tie up a truck and crew for longer. It's credited toward your final bill. Financing is available if the relocation budget needs to be spread out. Employees who are military, veterans, first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, seniors, or students can also ask about our community discounts on their household moves.

Our number sometimes looks higher than a quote someone gave you over the phone in four minutes. A phone quote from a mover who never saw the job is a guess, and guesses get corrected on moving day, when your people are standing around waiting. We'd rather look expensive on Tuesday than surprise you on Friday. At No Hassle Movers, the number we quote after seeing the job is the number you pay. Here's how we keep our pricing honest.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a corporate relocation cost?

Every corporate relocation gets a custom quote based on scope, distance, crew size, packing, and timing. Smaller local pieces, like one employee's household across town, run on our standard rate of $547 for the first 2 hours with 2 movers and a truck, then $127 an hour. Larger relocations get a flat rate after we see everything, and that's the price you pay. There's no trip fee, and the estimate is free.

How long does a corporate relocation in Tucson usually take?

Most combined office and employee moves take three to five days from start to finish. A single office move can often happen over one evening or weekend so your team doesn't lose a business day. Combined moves take a bit longer because we schedule them so the office is ready before families arrive. We'll give you a real timeline once we know your move type.

What happens if the office move and employee moves aren't scheduled together?

You risk employees showing up to an empty office or a house with no furniture. That usually happens when a company hires separate crews for the office and the households, and one runs behind. When one team handles both, there's one schedule: office furniture might arrive Thursday, employee households Friday or Saturday, and everyone's ready Monday morning.

Can you handle office equipment and employee household moves at the same time?

Yes, and it's what sets us apart. On one move, we relocated eight employees' workstations from the Catalina Foothills to a downtown Tucson office and set up new homes for three of them in the same week, with the same crew. Most moving companies only do one side or the other. One point of contact means nothing falls through the cracks.

Do you handle long-distance moves for relocating employees?

Yes. We're movers, not brokers, so the employee's household rides on our truck with our crew from pickup to delivery, with no warehouse stops or shared loads. For moves into Arizona, our crew travels to the employee's current home to pack and load. Long-distance moves get a custom flat rate after we see the household.

How do you protect equipment and boxes from Tucson's heat?

We keep items off hot loading docks and out of direct sun during packing and transport. In summer, we start loading by 5:30 or 6 a.m., load electronics and heat-sensitive items last so they come off first, and move them straight from the building to the truck. Heat can damage electronics, warp furniture, and harm documents if boxes sit out too long.

What if an employee's household changes after the walkthrough?

We update the quote. Our walkthrough prices what's there the day we look, and employees often are still sorting when we see the home. If items are added or removed, we give you the new number before moving day, with no penalty and no surprises on the truck ramp.

How do you avoid surprise costs on a corporate relocation?

We give you one estimate covering the office and the employee households together, instead of billing piece by piece. Once we've seen everything, the flat rate is the price you pay. Evening and weekend moves cost the same as weekday moves, and there's no trip fee or call-out charge.
